Attendance

“Every day you show up, you’re investing in your future self. Don’t underestimate the power of attendance.”

It is so important that we encourage good attendance from our children and that we act as excellent role models of this. Being present and punctual every day shows a sense of responsibility to our own growth and helps to develop resilience within our children.

However, we appreciate that children get poorly sometimes and it is important that children are kept at home when they are ill, both to give them a chance to recover and to ensure that their illness is not spread to others in school. The following link will support parents to know when they should keep their child off school: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school/

If your child is too ill to come to school, please do contact the office before 8:30am on each day of their absence so we know not to expect them in school that day.

For further information regarding attendance, please read our policy (below) which has been adapted from the LA model policy and is based on the latest DfE guidance https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/working-together-to-improve-school-attendance.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's attendance, or you need further guidance or support, please do come and speak to me so we can work together to get the best outcomes for our children.
