Welcome to our Year 1 class page. Here you will find our topic web giving a brief summary of our topic for this term. You will also find our curriculum letter which provides all the information you will need on what your child will be learning during this term. Home Learning in Year 1

Phonics and Spelling 

Each week I will send home a summary of the phonics that we have been covering during the week.  I will also include a set of spellings that can be worked on at home.  These will include words that we have been working on during the week and/or others from the high frequency word list.

Mathletics

On Mathletics, your child will receive activities to do based upon what we have been covering in Maths. Please spend some time whenever you can using this website in order for your child to practise and consolidate their maths learning. 

Reading

Please continue to read regularly with your child.  The books that they bring home are the ones that they have chosen and while they may not always match their reading level exactly they will give opportunities for creating conversations about vocabulary and building skills on comprehension as well as just decoding the words.

Each week I will select 2 new books for your child to read with you.
