Late/Absence Procedures
If your child arrives late and misses registration it is important that they report to the office where they can be entered as present. If your child is ill, or will not be in school for any reason, please contact the school as soon as possible. This is important for safety reasons.
Absences are also recorded and entered on the child’s report at the end of the year. Parents are expected to offer a reasonable explanation for their child’s absence. If no explanation is received, the absence must be recorded as unauthorised. Family holidays taken in term time are a major interruption in your child’s education and should be avoided, whenever possible. They will not be authorised unless there is an exceptional circumstance, and a form to request an absence as such, is available from the office.
